@keith8mccleary The trick is to watch the hydrometer. If it ALSO isnt moving, then maybe you need to re-pitch.

@Sezar538 I don’t do it on the stove anymore either. I have other videos that just show me mixing it together. For 1 gallon, use 200kg of dextrose and half a pack of yeast.

thank you so much for sharing but i saw other videos that can made it easier than this they dont have to put it on fire? just mix the yeast and sugar and warm water and it will work also? so what is the diffierent between your way and their way? plus can you please type what do you use and how much of yeast and sugar do you use for 1 gallon please? because im from middle east and i dont know every word you say and i would be very thanking 5* stars

An even easier method you could experiment with that will arguably produce a better final product is what we in Oz call a toucan. You simply use two kit cans and 23 – 25 litres of water. Thats it. We do them all the time in Australia. Clear an area for a mega messy krausen though. With 25 litres if you get the kit cans on discount it works out cheaper too. Thats cheaper, easier and arguably better. It starts @ OG 1045 – 1055 and FG @1012 – 1018. Dont add hops first try, can be bitter

@wavepsychic The water filtration system in Ontario is the most advanced in Canada, probably North America. My water is fine.

G’day, folks! Just a tip, if you let the can of malt extract in a sink of hot water, it’ll pour a lot easier.

Am dyin to try it oot ma self craig, lived in germany for a wee while there and became a big wheat beer fan, a was also lookin into these more advanced brewing, with using all the ingredients from scratch, is there any serious taste difference in this or is it just more of a buzz being more self sufficient?

  12. CraigTube says:

@keith8mccleary Well lighter beers are nice, like pils and lager. Problem with them is they leave more room for off flavours. The darker beers can cover that up. That said, I really like my Cooper’s Lager. It’s more like an light ale, and can be brewed at normal room temps. I really enjoyed the English Bitter as well. I have yet to try the wheat batch I have sitting here. Thanks!

Alright craig big chief, a just watched all your your clips, fantastic, its a different story watching and hearing someone go through the steps than reading a guide, i am in the process of doing my first batch, air lock has not budged one bubble for 4 days now but your air lock 101 clip has left me to believe its all good, i am currently brewing wheat beer, is there 1 or 2 types that work best e.g. pilsner, stout, etc.

@CraigTube no problem :) i’ll bear that in mind about the nutient!
i’ll get in touch if i get round to making a video. ur channel is great btw! it’s like a brewers’ support station :P cheers

  24. CraigTube says:

@mackinnon182 I added some yeast nutrient and now it’s waking up. I put two cups of sugar into the 3.5 L of juice. This yeast nutrient has repeatedly saved me from stuck fermentation in these cider and inmate brews. Thanks.

  25. mackinnon182 says:

@CraigTube I’m afraid i don’t. i could make a video but i don’t have good camera gear haha, I’m not very experienced but i have nailed down my procedures nicely. I’m in scotland and the apple juice i can buy here i am guessing has less presevatives in it. either that or you haven’t added sugar to it, i know apple juice is sugary in the first place but extra sugar i find really helps activate the yeast. hope this helps craig!
